Brand Design and Designers: Pentagram

I will be reviewing Pentagram Design Consultancy. They have created many logos including Verizon and fantastic Beasts, Each logo is very different. The fantastic beasts logo has a much different look than the Verizon logo The have also made DC, windows, and some other noteworthy companies logos. Most of the logos contain words and imagery that really grab your attention. This is used to grab the attention of the people. They want to attract people to whatever the company is selling, offering, or doing.

The portfolio of Pentagram is filled with carious logos in a sort of un organized manner. Some are filled with images while others are just text. Some are for TV or movies while others are for companies. One is even for a school! I don't really like the design of the site however. It seems messy and overwhelming. I love the art and the logos but the design of the site is not that nice.

Pentagrams designs don't really have a common theme behind them. I mean look at the new school logo compared to fantastic beasts, they are completely different. They don;t really share anything except for the fact that they are text and each have the color black. Some of the logos share a little bit more in common, Like the Windows logo and the Verizon logo and even the new school logo. Each logo is text on a white background. While others like the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Saturday Night Live 40th season logos have nothing in common at all.

The example I will be reviewing is the DC Entertainment Logo. The logo is a very simple logo. Its Two big blue letters inside a blue circle on a white background. It isn't much but its the logo of one of the biggest comic book companies around. It was created mostly to brand comic books, they use a different logo in front of their movies. It gives off a very bold message. A message that they are powerful and awesome. Bolded letters show power or strength. They jump out at you. The logo jumps out at you. You instantly get drawn to the DC. I like this logo. It is small but still holds power.

I really like the designers designs. They are all different and they are all good. Each logo has a distinct feel and makes you want to learn more. Where this designer fails is in the website. I really dislike the look and feel of the website. It doesn't sell me on wanting them to make me a logo. They just throw at you a bunch of examples in an unorganized way. Some people may like it but I don't. The designer is good at what they do but they just need a better site.

CGI Film Review

I am going to review AMP by Adam Morisett.
The first thing that I noticed in the film was the dystopian city. They created a large realistic looking city in the background that helped create the story and the universe. A little bit into the movie they had a very cool looking robot that looked real.

Possibly how they did the city backdrop
The first CGI that they utilized was creating the 2D city for the background of a lot of scenes. They created a very realistic looking city. It looked dystopian and futuristic. The city had many tall buildings with a tower with some guys name on the side. Kind of looked like trump tower. Since blender is the only program that we have learned and it most defiantly wasn't made using MS paint  they most likely used blender or photoshop. It could have been done with a green screen and a drawing.

The second very impressive CGI is the Robot. He was a very realistic cool looking robot. He was pretty much in every scene. They probably made him and the dog bot in blender because that really is the best option. You could always MS paint it but to the right you see how that turns out. They probably created multiple parts to create the robot in blender. Then most likely with the use of a mo cap suit animated him and threw him on a real life person.

The mood of the film was hope. The whole premise of the film was fighting against the power. At the beginning the characters were talking about an oppressive government and that these people are living outside the law. They found something that attracts the government and want to use it to bring down the oppression. They use dark and evil looking outfits for the government officials to show that they are the bad people. They use a brighter, but still dark, color for the good guys.

The CGI in this film added to the film and made it amazing. They used it to bring you to this world and show you the effects of the government. If they didn't use it then the movie would have looked cheap and the robot wouldn't have existed. It was a cool looking movie and the CGI didn't take away from it. The creator was able to use CGI to create this elaborate world in the span of a couple minutes..

3D Game Design Review

I am going to be looking at the 3D imaging in Star Wars battlefront. I picked this game because the graphics and sounds are amazing even thought the game isn't that good. They went to all the real movie locations and looked at all the original props to try and make it as authentic as possible. The took pictures and videos of the actual locations and then used #D technology to put it in the game. This allowed them to make a realistic looking map to battle in.
They combined 3D imaging with the amazing sounds to give you the feeling of being in the star wars universe. The sound team created sounds that were on the same level as the visuals of the game. I can see the map designers and sound team getting together and trying to find the perfect sound for the maps. Then the sound team goes and puts the sound in at the best parts.
I think it would be an interesting job to work in a 3D design environment, It would be stressful because of time constraints so i wouldn't be able to achieve a level of perfection. EA has very strict schedules that you have to keep with so that would be hard. I don't see myself working there because I don't want to work for EA.

Super Bowl Ad Review

I chose the etrade baby commercial because its just weird. They use a baby to advertise a broker company. Its just out of the ordinary. You wouldn't expect it so it grabs your attention because its unique. Also the baby is cute so that's a plus. Even though it has a mans face on it.

They want to show you that its easy to get rich with them. It's so easy even a baby could do it. They communicate this by showing a baby doing rich people stuff and having a stack of cash. He also explains to us what you can do with this money even though he is a baby. A genius baby.

The commercial has many elements that captured my attention. The first and main one is the use of a baby as the center point. They made it look like he was talking to you with a grown man's voice. To show that they can save you lots of money they had a slideshow of different pictures of rich people things with the baby in them. They also had an energetic song in the background of it.

This commercial is a unique one. It utilizes a baby to advertise a broker company. They have the baby at the center point talking to you with a man's voice. They combined pictures and video to convey their message. Overall it was a good commercial and an interesting way to advertise.

Blown to bits

For this I worked with Connor, Aidan, and Mitchell

We have decided that we are against this. If this was a thing then Netflix would be hurt. A lot of the movies would be taken off due to copyright, It is nice to protect people and what they created but we don't want to take things away from others. Does that make any sense? No? What i am trying to say is that if we provided more protection then these services that show this content may have to remove it.

Also peoples privacy while using technology should be protected. We don't wan the government  to know of every little thing that we search up. The QR code thingy on prints is a good idea so they can track criminals and stuff. If the government new every thing about what we do on the internet and during are free time would be bad. It would just be wrong.

Bug Stomping Simulator 2015 Final

Have you ever been annoyed by bugs? Have you ever wanted to stomp on them? Well now you can. Welcome to Bug Stomping Simulator 2015. A realistic Bug Stomping game. A true next-gen experience. Feel the rush of stomping on bugs. The thrill of destroying those pesky creatures, Unlimited amounts of bugs. Hours of fun. Play it now, you won't regret it.

Download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3aCeQzMoWz-ei02X1RBOFBCbFk/view?usp=sharing

From the day H&M was formed we have strived for innovation. When Gravedigger contacted us about a partnership we couldn't say no. Together we made Bug Stomping Simulator 2015.
We started by assigning roles. Hannah, H&M's lead programmer was obviously the coder. Max, H&M's designer and coder was of course the Master. Then there was Connor, Gravedigger's CEO and founder. He was the designer and complainer,
Then we each headed out to complete our tasks. Hannah coded and coded for days. Max controlled the people and made sure everyone was doing something. He also helped where help was needed. Connor complained and found one picture, and coded one thing. Together we made the best mobile game since Angry Birds.

The Penguin Game

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/26615210/
Hannah wrote all the dialogue and the basic coding for the sprites to have a conversation. She also figured out how to ask a question and wait for an answer (if it's correct, move on; if not, repeat 3 times). The sound effects were also added in by her.

Max controlled all the movement that the sprites did, along with the background changes and the costumes that each sprite had. He also duplicated the basic coding and made sure that it was repeated in every scene. The end screen was also created by him.

One challenge we as a group overcame was getting the sprites to ask a question and wait for a response. We got over it by using the "ask () and wait" block paired with the "answer" variable (which we figured out by googling). Basically this coding gets the script to tell the sprite to ask a question, wait for an answer, detect if it is right or wrong, then do something else (sound, dialogue, etc.) depending on the outcome. Thanks ScratchWiki!
